Reliance Jio DTH to be Launched Soon

Reliance Jio has been trending continually ever since the launch of Jio SIM. And now, Reliance Jio is preparing to surprise us once again. DTH (Direct to Home) service. Yes, you heard it right. Reliance is gearing up to launch Jio TV. The set top box is rumoured to be around Rs 500 - Rs. 1000/- and the first three to six months is supposedly free! Post that, it is said to be arround Rs 120 to Rs.185/month for 360 channels.

According to some reports, it was said that RIL has tied up with TiVo Corporation, which is a familiar name in entertainment tech world.

Reliance might take advantage of optical fibre technology and will offer 1Gbps speed for broadband services. The optical fibre cables are already being grounded in the cities. Jio is expected to launch the DTH services sometime in April, or May at the most. So be ready to make the most of Jio Fibre Broadband.

(Unofficial) Interestingly, Jio DTH works quite differently from other DTH networks. Jio provides a smart set top box with Jio broadband connection, which offers high-internet speed. You can conveniently watch online television live streaming without any hassles. You don’t have to install a separate internet set top box.

You can use Android set top box for your TV and can view the same channels offered on the Jio TV app on your Jio SIM enabled phones. The app can stream more than 300 channels in regular quality and around 50 channels in HD – at no extra cost. You might get this service for free for first six months. Post the welcome offer, you can continue to enjoy the service for a nominal fee of Rs 120 - Rs.185/month (rumoured).

The important thing to mention at this point is that companies like Airtel, Tata, and Vodafone charge around Rs. 1500/- for their boxes and around Rs.250-300 per month without the HD channels. Jio, on the other hand, provides the same services for a cheaper price.
