India ka Smartphone, the much awaited Reliance Jio Phone, bookings start from 5:30 P.M. today, both online and offline. More than 20 million units are expected to be booked today in the flash sale.

How to Pre-order your Jio Phone online:

There are two ways through which you can book your Jio Phone online:

  1. Through Jio website

    1. Register on the page https://www.jio.com/en-in/book-jio-phone for the sale
    2. Install this chrome extension on your desktop which would autobook the JioPhone in this flash sale for you.
    3. At 5:20 P.M., open your browser and this page https://www.jio.com/en-in/book-jio-phone and login to the website. Ensure you check the availability of the phone at your place.
    4. The chrome extension will give a green pop-up on the right-hand side of the page and give you additional information
    5. Instead, if you see a blue pop, up just click on it and the flash sale script would get activated
  2. Please note that the Jio Phone booking will be highly competitive and hence we suggest you to have less tabs open on your browser, so that more internet bandwidth is allocated for the flash sale.

    Also you would need to pay ₹500 to book this phone. And the remaining ₹1000 would be taken in at the time of hand over of phone. This amount is entirely refundable and would be given back by the end of 36 months.

  3. Through MyJio app

    1. Register for the sale in MyJio App or website

    2. Open the app at 5:20 P.M. Ensure you are logged in

    3. When the booking opens at 5:30 P.M., tap on the "Prebook Now" option

    4. Provide your phone number and pincode of the place you live in

    5. Tap on "Proceed" & Complete your payment process

    6. You will get a booking ID on the app as well as SMS. You can refer to this while picking it up from the retailer

How to get Jio Phone Offline

You can also book your Reliance Jio Phone offline. But be warned, it’s going to be a tough task, as there will be a tremendous rush. Also, only a limited quantity of phones available in stores.

The preferred stores where there would be larger stock are Reliance digital stores and other branded merchant outlets like Sangeetha, Univercell, etc. Reliance prefers its own stores in order to have more footfalls, where they can sell users accessories and other things.

Reliance Digital store executives have mentioned that if the JioPhone is pre-booked through the Reliance Industries retail unit like Reliance Digital, it has to be collected from the specific Reliance store whose code would be sent via SMS to the customer.

The current lot of Jio phones are manufactured outside India and Jio says they will start manufacturing the phones in India by the end of the year. The payment for this will also happen via a new PoS system, which will support issuing of pre-booking vouchers and payment through paytm, BHIM, JioMoney, and netbanking.

Additional notes:

The flash sale script for auto-booking and pre-booking of the Jio phone will run on 24th at 5:30 P.M. and would continue till your jio phone is booked or the flash sale gets out of stock.

FAQ

  1. Do I have to pay the whole amount while pre-booking, i.e. Rs.1,500?
    No. All you have to pay is Rs.500 at the time of pre-booking in the flash sale. The remaining Rs.1000 will be collected by the company when they handover the phone. This amount is refundable upon handing it back by the end of 36 months.
  2. Where should I collect my Jio Phone if I pre-book through Reliance retail outlets?
    According to Reliance Digital store executives, if you pre-book your JioPhone through any Reliance retail unit, it should be collected from the specific Reliance store whose code would be sent via SMS to you.
  3. What are my chances of pre-booking Jio Phone in other outlets like Sangeetha, Univercell, etc.?
    You can definitely pre-book your phone through other outlets, but please note that official Reliance Digital stores will have stocked up more number of units to attract footfalls and consumer interests. So your best chance would be official Reliance Digital outlets.
  4. What is the mode of payment if I book Jio Phone through retail outlets?
    Retailers will have upgraded Jio point-of-sale machines with the latest software, which supports pre-booking vouchers and payment through Jio Money, BHIM, Paytm, and net banking.
  5. How many vouchers can a retailer issue in the first lot?
    Each retailer will be able to issue only 40 vouchers in the first lot.
