Its an honour to have a Huwaei honor!!!

I was initially reluctant to buy this product because I wasn't sure about the brand.I went against my will due to its killer specs it had I also did my due diligence before buying it. The reviews were extremely positive and they compete against Mi4 and it must for a reason I was pleasantly surprised with the phone. It was butter smooth and the Emotion UI is insanely simple to use Pros 1. Beautiful design 2. Super smooth touch 3. Easy and simple UI 4. Incredible performance 5. Long battery life ( get more than a day and half) - MotoX dies in 8 hours and my phone in hours 6. 441 PPI display Cons 1. Not many people know about the brand 2. Draws too much attention 3. No Dual SIM and 4G Note: This product has a Kirin 920processor and not a Mediatek processor

Great for the price, no need to spend 30-40k for a brilliant phone

Ordered it on the bigbillionday and got 1500 discount, Thanks to Flipkart After months of reading up about Honor 6 and a day of actual use, I am penning down a first-hand review, mostly the points which are not covered in other reviews found on the net, hope it helps: BUILD, QUALITY AND DESIGN • Superb fit and finish, good material quality. Feels premium and nice to hold • Very light for the size (around 130gms) but doesn’t feel flimsy at all • Narrow bezels with a good percentage of area covered by the display itself (Unlike the mi3) make it more compact than other phones with 5 inch display • Rounded corners and super slim profile makes it practical to use (Unlike square-ish corners of mi3) DISPLAY • One of the best things on this phone is this gorgeous display. You can easily notice the sharpness due to the very high ppi • Vibrant colours, sufficient brightness, good viewing angles • Super AMOLED screens have better contrast (OK, I am really nit-picking here) UI • Simple, smooth and very functional. For anyone who has used an android phone before, there should be no stress to adapt to this • Not very far from stock android, and changes made on top of it feel very natural while using and there is almost zero learning curve • Default theme works good for me. For those who want to play around, there are plenty of customization options available ( both local and online) • Lack of app drawer doesn’t really matter as you can still keep your favourite apps and widgets closer and group and push back others • EMUI 3 is around the corner, waiting to try it asap CAMERA AND IMAGING • The 13mp primary camera isn’t anything brilliant (only if I compare it with the ones on other flagships) but does the job well • Don’t underestimate; it’s still the best I've seen in this price range • 5mp front camera is a surprise, great for selfie lovers; it’s a wide angle one and captures good range. You can easily take a selfie with 2 friends by your side • The beautification feature should be popular with the fairer sex, it actually softens the skin texture and removes unwanted details from your face • The stock editor packs in some innovative stuff (slim face, slender nose, enhanced eyes etc.) PERFORMANCE • I can’t say much about it as am not much into hi-performance gaming. Basic stuff like switching across multiple apps and webpages was handled with ease • Became a little warm at the back and showed some lag after half an hour of streaming full HD videos on YouTube AUDIO QUALITY - This is one aspect which is greatly neglected in other reviews. Here's my take • Easily one of the better sounding phones in the market. IMO, it comes second only to the beats range found on more expensive HTC One series • Superb audio on speaker, no surround speakers though • Good with headphones, but not great (I am switching from Beats audio and feel it’s better) • Decent volume level with good frequency response, the bass tends to get muddy at times though. I am no audiophile, but can tell good from bad using my Shure SE215s • The stock music app comes with dts enhancement which works like a charm (still not as good as beats audio in HTCs) • FOR THOSE WHO CARE FOR MUSIC AND ARE WAITING FOR THE MI4 - I have tested Mi3 and it sounded pathetic and if gsmarena reviews are anything to go by, Mi4 will be no different. Good to see Huawei has done no cost cutting on this front Finally, A SPECIAL MENTION OF THE WiFi (for those who have read anandtech review and are worried about the poor WiFi). Firstly, I haven’t read about this problem anywhere else, and now that I have used it, I can say it has been flawless. I HAVE EXPERIENCED GREAT SPEEDS AND NO DROP WHATSOEVER Package Content -2 Screen protectors (Front and Back) are included in package, Good that Huawei chose these over some flimsy earbuds for the namesake.

Revisiting review section : WOW !!! Amazing Mobile In 20K :(

Check at bottom for latest comments I have purchased in FLIPKART on launching day itself, delivered within 2 days (Thanks for quick delivery). I was thinking to go for Nexus5 but due to expensive i was unable to go for it and finally i purchased Huawei Honor 6 H60-L04 which has satisfied me. Pros: 1. Very good graphics 2. More audible volume with provided backside speaker 3. Very sensitive touch 4. Good battery backup (On average usage it's giving more than 24hrs) 5. No lagging even with heavy games(Tested with Asphalt 8) 6. Very good Emotion UI (Customized on top of Kitkat) 7. Good music with earphones 8. After playing heavy games even an hour also din't observed heat 9. Rear camera quality (13MP) which is satisfactory 10. Very light weight 11. Provided front and back screen guards Cons: 1. No ear phones 2. Default RAM consumption is around 1GB but no issues with performance. As it is Octacore Processor with 3GB RAM, performance is too good and as of now i don't have any regrets for choosing Huawei Honor 6. I will update again after a month if i will observe anything else....... Feedback after using around 6 months: 1. too much heating problem even if you use for 15-20 mins continuously 2. automatically restarts without any reason 3. WIFI disconnects after using some time, need to reconnect by opening WIFI n/w's section 4. last and main one which i am not experienced but listen from people about service which is horrible. so humble advise, please go with well established brands otherwise when you will face a problem with mobile, you will be in trouble by running around service centers.

Best smartphone you can get. PERIOD!

LG, Samsung, HTC, Sony, Motorola et al are selling their flagship with high-end spec between 32+ K to 45+K rupees. So when lesser known company like Huawei comes with a spec which beats all these flagship phones on paper and costs about half or less than half, then one tends to be suspicious at first. Like me. I was very skeptical (especially after reading AnandTech review, which I will cover later in this review) about this phone. After owning this phone for a week I am converted person. So, before I begin my review, here is my summary. This is the BEST smartphone right now in Indian market. PERIOD! And here is why! 1.UI - I am not a huge fan of chinese UI (MIUI and EMUI) skins which ape iPhone UI. But surprisingly I love the EMUI 2.3. Its light, smooth and does exactly what you would expect without being an hindrance or restrictive. I am running Google Now Launcher because I am used to it on my Nexus 4 and it works beautifully with EMUI. My only wish is that I hope EMUI can allow us to go immersive. 2. Buid and Quality- Surprisingly Light and ergonomically well designed. When Samsung came out with Galaxy S2 I fell in love with it becasue of its form factor. Honor 6 is very similar to that. Although mostly plastic, it doesnt look cheap at all. And can compete with any phone out there (including iPhone and Sony Z3) on looks 3.Camera: Much better than my Nexus 4. Not as good as Sony Z2 or Z3. But Colors are great. Noise is low. Does well in lowlight. . 4.PERFORMANCE: Not a single hang nor a single reboot since I bought. That to me is a performance as expected. I am not a gamer so I am not interested in benchmarks. But this phone is smooth and very responsive. No lag, no stutter, no problems. Video rendering is awesome. 5.DISPLAY: Brilliant 1080p full HD. Best screen there is.Nothing more to add here except that my battery goes quickly because I cant put the phone down. I have got into this habit of turning on my screen every few seconds to look at the beautiful screen! :-) 6.BATTERY: With 1080p and Octacore you need a powerful battery. Honor has one. Here are my results from everyday test. I am a heavy 3G user. I use 3G 10-12 hours a day and rest on WiFi. I use the screen heavily on News, Whatsapp and Google+ . So I do about 4-5 hours of Screen On Time (SOT). I needed a phone which will last me at least from 6AM in the morning to 10PM at night (with still little bit of juice left!!). BIG PLUS - Battery is a Fast charger. You can charge to 20-25% in 20 minutes. Thats fast and helps you get about 5 hours of life with moderate to heavy use. Here are the real life tests On Wifi: With a single charge I got over 24 hrs with about 5 hours of SOT with 1080p display On, Bluetooth ON, Location ON (WiFi), GPS OFF On 3g (10 to 12 hrs in office) and rest on WiFi: I get about 14-15 hours with 3 hours of SOT with 1080p display ON, Bluetooth ON, Location ON (WiFi), GPS OFF Here is the TRICK to make the phone work for 24 hours on 10-12 hours of 3G and rest on WiFi a)Charge the battery full overnight and use the phone normally b)When the battery drops to 65-70%, charge for 15-20 minutes to get to about 85% c)Use the phone normally Using this trick I got 24 hours of battery life with 4 hours of SOT. Screen Save Feature: Huawei claims that by turning the screen to 720p resolution (using Screen saver in settings) we can increase the battery by 20% . I have not been able to replicate this. In my test both 1080p and 720p get me about the same battery life with above config. So may be I am missing something or its just a gimmick from Huawei. Ultra Power Saving mode; This is pretty much useless in normal daily life, unless you are in a place where you cannot charge and need the phone for calling or SMS desperately Stand By: Extraordinary standby time!! In my test the phone takes about 2% every 6hours on standby. Which translates to 300 hours of stand by!! That is impressive! 7.Now coming to AnandTech Review: With a hind-sight I feel AnandTech review was designed to make it look like this phone is failure in front of other flagships (who probably pay AnandTech?). The WiFi review was a big thing. They made it look like a piece of crap. Let me tell you - All connections 3g/WiFi/GPS/Bluetooth are fast and smooth. No Lag No drops and No issues. GPS is faster to acquire than on my Nexus 4 Bluetooth connects faster than my Nexus 4 Wifi seems faster than Nexus 4 (I did Ookla speed test and I found Honor 6 getting better Mbps than N4 on same network, not sure how!) Location acquisition on Wifi (non-GPS) is faster than Nexus 4. NO ISSUES Whats So ever!! 8.Lastly the CONS: For me the only con is the lack of Dual SIM. Otherwise NO issues! People are complaining that they didnt get headset. Whats the use of a crappy headset that you get with Moto G? Buy your own! For this price, lack of headset is nothing for me. 4 Star Because I am wary of giving it a 5 star so soon! :-)

    Honor 6....Awesome fone

I was searching all over internet for mobile to buy....for atleast a month... Although I wanted to buy MI3...it was not available...during this I found this fone... After reading the spec..I found it very awesome. My friends were pretty skeptical about my decision to buy this fone but I went with my guts and bought this fone on 6th Oct. Although Flipkart said that it would be delivered by 11th Oct...to my surprised it was delivered very next morning. Thanks Flipkart for that. Also my friends love it. Now about the fone.... I have been using the fone for last 2 days and found it pretty awesome The design of this fone is very good and also its very light in weight. The fone has a 4G support but cant comment on it. The touch is buttery super smooth The Emotion UI 2.3 is very good and very simple to use. Comes with internal 16GB memory and expandable upto 64 GB 3 GB RAM The camera captures very good pics if the light conditions are good....else the quality is OK The music quality is OK...u have to buy a headset..as the box does not contain headset, Huawei has provided 2 scratch guards both for front and back. Though I am not a big gamer...I did install few games and it played without a lag. The battery is very good and lasts more than a day. This fone has a Kirin 920 processor Verdict: A good fone with sleek design and also at a very good price.

The Ultimate Flagship Experience at an Unbelievable Price

I have been using this device only for the last 2 days but I am already wowed by it. I was waiting to get the Mi4, however after reading a lot of blogs from China claiming that Honor 6 is better than Mi4 in few aspects, I decided to take the plunge. Design: This phone has a great design. It has a premium aluminium frame and a glass back. The best thing is the phone feels so light on the hand. Doesn't feel like a 5" phone in terms of size and weight. Such a pleasure to hold in the hand. The back is not gorilla glass, however Huawei have thoughtfully added a back film to protect the phone from scratches. It also includes a screenguard in the box. Display: The display is the best in class I've ever seen. It is a 1080p screen with great color reproduction. It's a treat to the eye. There's an interesting option to render the screen in 720p resolution to save battery. Processor: It comes with a homegrown Kirin 920 processor. Huawei had claimed that this beats Snapdragon 801 in terms of performance. I think they were not wrong as per my Antutu benchmarks. It scores a whopping 37000+ score on balanced mode. The phone is lag free - it's buttery smooth thanks to the 3GB RAM Camera: Haven't tested much. But the initial impression has been good. I love the instant capture (by clicking the volume rocker twice) - it captures a picture even with the phone screen turned off Battery: I've had impressive battery life in the last 2 days. I am a heavy user and the 3100mAh battery easily lasts over a day for me. This is better than many of the Droids I have used in the last 2 years. Finally the PRICE- There is nothing to beat that currently. A sub 20K pricing was the clear decider for me. Thanks to Huawei and Flipkart for bringing this device. This device is right there with One Plus One and Mi4 in China. Will update my post with more detailed feedback.

    PLEASE AVOID THIS PHONE!!

I usually don't give negative feedback on a product unless it really gives problems. Unfortunately this phone has really disappointed me given the powerful specs boasted by Huawei. I replaced my lenovo P770 with this phone, but Huaweri honor 6 has CRASHED TWICE in last 3 months. First time it crashed just within a month of purchasing. Got a replacement of same product from Flipkart. Today again it crashed. Surprisingly it was working fine till evening 8PM and then suddenly it crashed. Its 9 PM when I am writing this review. Its dead means dead...can't even reboot it. I am completely at loss as why its happening. Not sure what kind of support will be provided by Huawei. My humble request would be TO AVOID THIS PRODUCT just because its boasting powerful specs. thanks

    Nonexistence Service

After a few days of using the device, I dropped the device and the front glass broke. As that was my mistake, I was willing to pay the glass/screen replacement charges. Huawei doesn't have a dedicated service center. They direct to third party service center (hardly a few) who deal with multiple brands like Motorola, HTC and a lot other brands. The one in Chennai was over crowded. On a Saturday, wait time to meet the agent was 4 hours and after that long wait they mentioned that it will take around 12 thousand rupees to replace the glass and advised me against going for it and moved on to next customer. Had it been some other trusted brand, I am sure there would have been enough support centers and I would have been able to replace the glass/screen in 2-3K rupees. For brands like Huawei, its use it till it works and in case of any issue just throw away the phone. For ~18K rupee phone that's a bit too much to expect. Anyways I learnt the lesson to not buy from not so well established brands.
