    Excellent product by philips

Philips HD4928/01 Induction Cooktop is one if you are looking for great cooktop. Price is reasonably good. Quick delivery (I got next day). It's best part is the manual control which allows you to control the cooking time and temperature. Our Indian dishes require different temperature for a particular period of time. Hence manual control comes in handy. One thing that is worth mentioning the Please Please Please use induction bottom utensil or compatible utensils. I have read reviews of fellow buyers who have not rate or review this product as good but, they may have been using other than mentioned compatible utensils. compatible utensils are mentioned in the description still, I will give the list: Stainless Steel Pots, Stainless Steel Rice Cookers, Cast Iron Frying Pots, Oil boiling Pots, Stainless Steel Water Jugs, Cast Iron Pots, Color Pots, Grilling Iron Plate

Excellent induction cook top and Flipkart rocks

It's a great looking induction cooktop with superb built quality. The plastic is stiff, buttons are firm, easy operating and the glass top is beautiful. The fan at the bottom is almost silent which I think is the biggest plus. A bit costly than alternatives but it is worth the price difference you pay when compared on quality. Flipkart as usual is great. Good packaging and swiftly delivery. A recommended purchase.

Good Looking Product But Indian Quality. Yet usable and efficient. But I do not recommend this

At first, I had bad experiences twice with this product, but Flipkart was very kind and awesome to have those issues sorted out in a very quick manner, ie it took only 1 day for replacements. I got replacement twice! (It pays to pay 90 bucks for express shipping during first order.) Thank you Flipkart :) I needed an Induction cooker due the difficulty in getting hold of LPG cylinders in black. The build quality of the device itself seems average, but the power chord looks very local! I realized that scratches and overall lack of build quality and dead on arriaval is because it is made in India locally. So technically it was not flipkart's fault. Here are the plus points: 0. Good looks! I want to frame it! 1. Heats up stuff quickly. Much quicker than Gas. Liquid stuff like dals, water, milk fast like Lamborghini. 2. The induction coil is the size of the CD, but can accommodate any size vessels. 3. It has a built in fan and residual heat indicator. The fan doesn't cool us. 4. It beeps and turns itself off if vessel removed after sometime or overheats (buggy). 5. Efficient (Wallet friendly) compared to LPG. 1L water boils in less than 2 minutes at 2100 Watts (full power). 1 KWh = 4.5 Rs, so it would cost ~2.1*4.5 Rs for 1 hour of cooking, or 15.75 p per minute. It costs ~32p to boil 1L water. I like and +1 @2100W but my wife cooks at 120-800 watts. 6. The Pause button is a life saver. 7. Kitchen is no longer so hot, and cooking is faster overall. No dangerous exhaust fumes. Can leave the AC on w/o suffocating. Happy Wife = Better Life (for Men). Bad things: 0. When set to Manual and press start, it starts with 1000W, should start at 200W... Black Omelette anyone? 1. Bad Quality Power Chord. Mediocre Build Quality Overall. 2. The system has a bug that manifests itself when over heat during longer cooking sessions, the Display will show random numbers, will not respond to any button presses and does not auto turn off in that state and continues to overheat. One has to off power manually. This can be hazard if left unattended. 3. All preset modes are useless, burns stuff. Only Manual is useful. 4. The method of controlling Temperature / Wattage seems to be PWM with multi second windows. This is bad in that food gets full heat every few (3-10) seconds. My wife cooks at 120W sometimes to avoid burns. 5. Making chapati was a pain in the a**, in that I had to use science and experimentation to make them. Then had to teach that skill to my wife. The preset mode burn chapatis. 6. Making food has become the intersection of science and art. That skill is at first difficult to learn. 7. Does not have child lock. Should be standard in any product that is hot and within range of crazy kids. 8. Pots/vessels can glide and slip easily. Antiskid not possible? Tips, Myth Busters and Cautions: The complete or only parts of the ceramic plate will become hot after cooking. Don't put plastic vessels and toddlers and shit on the cooktop... One need not use special mystic Induction cookware for normal induction cooking. The item needs to be only Iron/Steel that is magnetic and with flat bottom, preferable with a thick bottom or thick overall. So don't worry about buying expensive Induction ware. Only exception is big frying pans and Pressure Cookers, the induction version will have steel bottoms glued to body of vessels. Some alloy steels are semi magnetic and heating will be less efficient. Buy thick vessels to which magnets attract strongly. They are not so costly. After pressing the power off button, wait for a few minutes till the integrated fun turns of and electronics are cool enough. Then switch of wall socket. Going from LPG or Electric to Induction is a different experience, the cooking method has to be learned, so experiment with food development before going into production. This way you get the knack of cooking with this devilish machine. Keep items ready first before cooking. During the learning stage, she just burned stuff while watching serials, cutting stuff and by time she came back, stuff was charcoal and I was to blame... Probably one should use this only as a companion to LPG, because things like burning brinjal etc or papads on fire is obviously not possible. We use it along with Microwave. I am considering a normal electric heating plate/exposed coil type cooktop for burning etc. Verdict: Don't buy this due to build quality and bugs, instead go for the higher end Philips Cooktop which costs only a few 100 bucks more I suppose. Buy this only from Flipkart as other Online Stores may not have this kind of fast exchange options. Another site took 26 days for a faulty product to get replaced. Philips should contact me, take this thing back to the lab to study any embedded software / microcontroller bugs in it and send me another model which is actually safe to use! Suggestions: Make a smart induction cooktop with integrated Google Now. I be like "Okay Google, Cook my Rice..."
