I Wanted To Buy Sound Monitoring Headphones In Budget Range..Being A DJ/Producer, i surveyed a lot of headphones before finally buying Audio Technica ATH SJ-11. The Product Has An Excellent, Well Balanced Sound. Nice Bass (I Will Tell You How 2 Optimise it in a while ), Great Mids as Well As Highs. Talking About Noise Cancellation, its good. Even Though, These are supra-aural headphones (on the ear) but you dont have to increase volume too much 2 compensate for environmental noise. The Headphones are only 90 g in weight and you can wear them for long time without any discomfort. The Frame Is Flexible as well as Foldable. its Flexibility gives it strength. had the plastic been rigid, they would have been fragile. Kudos to Audio Technica For Brilliant Design. The Cable Is Tangle Free Even though not flat. The Headphones are sufficiently loud. Instrument Separation is Exceptional. These Headphones have something for everyone. All Genres Can Get Desired Output. [I Am A Trance DJ and I Love Their Output Btw] Well Talking About Price, These cans are impressive and highly recommended if you are looking for budget headphones. These wont disappoint you for sure. They Are Better Than Sony MDR XB-400 As They Have Balanced Sound. The Sony XB 400's Bass dominates the mids and highs. I love these headphones. and It isn't easy for any headphone to get loved by me! I had a budget of 2.5 k while purchasing a headphone. but still i purchased this headphone, even though i could have purchased a more expensive headphone easily. reason for this is simple- I have a big electronics store very near to my house. i listened to few headphones there and this headphone was a no brainer. while purchasing a headphones - there are two parameter to consider - comfort and audio quality. For me, comfort was of greater importance- having owned 4 headphones in part, weight of a headphone matters. also the snug fit matters. you would not care about audio quality or details of sound after one month, you get used to it. but an uncomfortable headphone will make your life hell. sweaty ears, pain in earlobes, congested feeling - you face these problems and these problems can like make you remove the headphone and listen on speakers or earphones. The ATH has perfect comfort. very light weight, snug fit on ears, soft ear coushon. basically it is onee of the best comfortable headphones. But there is one problem - the headband has no padding and you cannot wear it in neck and travel. it can actually irritate your skin. but this reduces weight, which is good for me. About audio performance - ATH blows a sucker punch at other headphones very easily in this small price range! It is not TWEAKED like beats or sennheiser to produce excess bass that can overpower mid and high, but it has good bass response. it can produce deep bass when there is a beat in music, it wont make deep rumbling sound that you find in bass heavy headphones. this does not means it is low quality. I tweak the EQ a bit and increase Maxxbass a bit and this can really pump out some heavy bass when ordered to. it can even make rumbling sound. If you tweak EQ, it will give you heavy bass and it can give increadible amount of it till your ears bleed and this is ddone very easily by this headphones, along with its awesome mid and highs. Mid and highs - these have the best frequency response in these range. nothing comes closer to this in casse of mids and high. Crisp. Sharp. Clear. Vibrant. If you really want to hear bass only, and dont care about quality of spectrum then these are not for you. these babies can produce deep bass really well when asked and have good frequency response. I liked the sound quality with medium high Bass that enables me to listen to my favorite music for hours at lower volumes without hurting my ears. The leather like material on the ear cups provide very good noise insulation. I am now able to listen to music in the local trains and be away from all unnecessary noises in the compartment. The material quality used is decent and the headphones are foldable and can fit in a small space in your bag. Wires does not entangle easily which is good. Overall a decent and relatively compact product from Audio Technica at a budgeted price. I had done a lot of research and tested a few Headphone, in the same price range, from known brands like Sony, JBL, Skullcandy, Sennheiser and Panasonic, but I found the sound quality of this particular model much better of the lot. Sony has a lot of extra Bass which suppresses the rest of the music while Sennheiser has no Bass but other sounds are clear. Audio Technica ATH-SJ11 has well balanced output and the rest can be tweaked by using the EQs of your music player. I highly recommend it to music lovers who would like to enjoy their music on the move, without any disturbance. Finally, thanks to Flipkart for their prompt delivery.
