    good product for cheap price

I ordered this product 29 days back. I thought I should share feedback for other buyers. After a bit of research I bought this Router, because this is the best suited for my requirement, which should be almost the same for every one. 1) use all(atleast most of them) 3G/4G data card without any problem. And the firm ware should be updated often to keep adding new 3G dongle hardware. - I checked among other products, DLINK etc., compared with the 3G dongle that it supports with others. TLink supports almost everything and every network. Dlink supports only the 3G dongle of its make. Others again the same and its very costly. - I use tata photon + and its working like magic. Installation, just plug go to 3G section select the network save and connect thats it. And thats for one time. - when I bought this product, I could see there is a firmware to update with latest 3g/4g dongles. I am hoping they will keep updating going forward too. You can check the dongles supported in their website. 2) I wanted to connect to regular modem(any) for internet connection. Note: This doesn't have ADSL modem. Again that was my requirement as I want to keep modem out of router, because the router technology will keep varying, initially it was ADSL now its ADSL2.0. In future will get internet connection thru cable like tata sky etc., 3) I wanted 300 mbps speed, because i might play HD movies from my laptop to my TV thru wireless, but for ppl with less speed you can use TP-LINK TL-MR3220. 4) No dropping of connections. - This i could check after delivery. For both 3g only option and also WAN only option there are no drops in connections. I cannot check with the option of 3g preferred over Wan and WAN preferred over 3G, because I use tikona broadband, and for which the authentication happens over browser. So this will not work. 5) less heat. absolutely very less heat over the box. May be because of the new design. 6) wall mountable. - yes wall mountable. Flipkart delivered in 6 days, unlike the other products in 2 days, but that was clearly mention before ordering and also after ordering the product. So regrets on that one too, as it was on time. But now are are getting in 2-3 days. update on 12 march 2013::: NOTE: AFTER almost 3+ mths of continuous use, i am not finding even a sngle problem. NOTE BUY 3G/4G router not 3G/3.7G ROUTER. Flipkart keeps changing the boxex, because both have same product code. 3G/4G is the latest model. update on 24 Jan 2014::: Still going good, Now my usage goes 24hrs a day, hardly I switch off, sometimes it goes for weeks without switching off. Still I use broadband as tikona, and very few times i use photon plus.

    USB Dongle Router for me

In the beginning, I was looking for a way to share the internet from a USB Dongle (which i used for my laptop..) with my new android phone. I tried ICS and various other 'hotspot' softwares to let my laptop share the internet connection with my phone through WiFi, but it all failed because the Wireless Device in my laptop didn't have that functionality (probably). So, this was the need which led me to go search for a usb dongle supporting router. I was still hesitant because I knew that my dongle does not run Internet on 3g but 2g and the products I found on the internet (including TL-MR3420) had 3G/4G written on them. But TL-MR3420 is working fine with my Photon+ 2G Connection. Now about the product: It is an excellent product. I've had no issues with it at all. I did not find any flaw. TP-Link is good because its website shows you the supported dongle types. So you can confirm if your dongle will work or not. It also has a WAN Port where you can attach your ADSL or Cable modem. And 4 LAN slots to attach PCs through LAN Cables. I have another product TL-MR3220. I needed to buy it for my computer training centre. I tried to experiment a little, and connected my Photon Dongle to my TL-MR3220 and fixed a LAN Cable to one of its LAN Slots(output) and the other end to TL-MR3420's WAN Slot(input). I changed the setting in TL-MR3420 to "WAN preferred and 3g as backup" mode. And guess what! It was sharing internet from the other TP-Link through its WiFi. Now I can have one TP-Link in my workplace and a 300ft LAN Cable connecting it from there to the other TP-Link at home (great distance apart). And I can have just one Internet Dongle for both home and office. I hope this review would be informative to people who have a lot of questions running in their mind when deciding to buy a product. My need was different... And TP-Link solved it perfectly...

    Works out of the box!!!

I had about a month thinking over buying this product since I had unsettled mindset over the compatibility of this router with Huawei UMG 1831(T-Mobile version) along with 3G Aircel in Chennai. I just could not find any website mentioning about compatibility between the router and UMG 1831 as this modem, ships to India almost unofficially but does sell like a hot cake. Why 3420? I preferred this to 3220 model as many already started complaining about Wifi range of TP Link products. I thought the dual antenna should give me a decent range and the freedom of 3G anywhere. Buffering movies to TV was not my prime objective to get this router. Look and Feel: This router does not look as it is shown in image. The texture is not glossy and the size of this router is more like phablet. How ever, the build is good and you can expect a good standard in the make.It is very light weighted. Compatibility: I just had to plug my modem to the router and access the router through Wifi to set up basic configuration such as "3G/4G mode only". The router went to "Identifying mode" for 30 seconds, during which I thought that the router is just not going to speak to the modem at al. Alas, after sometime, they did shake hands and I was able to access internet with a speed of 1.5 Mbps speed instantly. UI: The router management UI is good enough to make you comfortable in setting the router in 5 mins. It has "Quick setup" option which asks you details such as country and operator. I was surprised to find that "Aircel" was not listed in the operators. How ever, I did not opt for quick setup as my setup was already detected by the router way ahead. Wifi Range: I have setup the router about 3-4 meters apart with a 8 inch wall separating the unit from me. The signal has already dropped to 70% with only 144 Mbps rate available out of 300 Mbps. At this point, I can only assume that the router is good enough to cover my house of 1000 sq feet with decent connectivity. Cost: I bought this router for 2375 Rs few days back and it did seem to cheap for a 3G router with dual antenna. UPDATE (29th Aug-2013) The router suddenly went to "Identifying..." mode after about a week of my usage. I did a reboot from the menu option provided and the router recognized my modem again. Not sure if this will happen again. Will update my post, if at all I get this trouble. UPDATE(05th Oct 2013) After about 2 months of my usage, today the router suddenly could not detect my modem at all. The message that I receive in system logs is "Modem plugged out" even though I have the modem plugged in properly. I get this issue every time I use Aircel. With Vodafone, I do not get any issues. The router is very unreliable as of now. I am in touch with TP Link support now. :( UPDATE(08th Oct 2013) The issue seems to be low signal strength of Aircel in my area. The signal dropped from 56% to 35%. This router shows modem unplugged when it is not able to get decent connection out of modem. Solution: Set ISP manually and leave APN blank. This some how lets router detect the modem even in low signal. Strange. But this is confirmed from TP LINK forum by users.
