Philips has taken the SHE3580/3590 and improved on it with a thick good quality cable, a sturdy L shaped 3.5mm jack and textured strain relief for both ear-pieces. These new IEMs also seal better than the SHE3580s because of their oval shaped ear sleeves. Unfortunately, the sound tonality is still the same with hot mids and highs, but with a very accurate bass that doesn't bleed into the lower mids at around 300 to 500Hz . Hence, the bass is accurate with just enough thump, weight and impact. The biggest positives of the drivers are their drive and PRAT that gets you grooving! Those looking for accuracy need only use a parametric EQ to take the bite out of the mids and highs by 3 to 6 db, depending upon your tastes. Bottom-line: A fine sounding backup/gym IEM with very good isolation for the peanuts you pay for it. It's better than Skullcandy INKed, SHE3580, Ultimate Ears 100 and 200.
