Expert Review :
This year marks the 10th anniversary of iPhone, and naturally, Apple has something spectacular planned to celebrate. If you are one of Apple’s fans, you may be eager for the new iPhone (although it’s not official, one may easily expect it to be called iPhone 8) to warm your hands. Do what you may, but you can’t scrunch up the time and drag the release date any closer.
In the meanwhile, we have heard some rumours about the new device. They may or may not turn out to be true, but it’s always interesting to speculate, isn’t it? So here are the top rumours about iPhone 8.
Design
There’s going to be an exhaustive change in the design: rumours suggest that the new design will do away with the bottom and top bevels that house features like Touch ID fingerprint sensor and the front-facing camera. Instead, the iPhone 8 will have the Touch ID and the camera as a part of the display itself. This means, there will be no home button. The phone looks like a single sheet of glass. What’s more, the iPhone 8 may support wireless charging as well.
Camera
The new iPhone is rumoured to bring forth a radical change in the camera. The front-facing camera may have 3D sensing capabilities that scan the 3D environment in front of it. 3D selfies may become a reality soon. It may also include facial and iris recognition.
OLED instead of LCD
The display is rumoured to be flexible plastic OLED instead of LCD. This will substantially reduce the width of the phone, making it slimmer and sexier than the current iPhone 7. Needless to say, this also helps the device consume less power and improve the display quality by leaps and bounds.
Glass Body
Apple may shy away from their current aluminium body and replace it with a glass body, something similar to the one used in iPhone 4 (it’s long forgotten, we know, but worth reminiscing).
Similar to iPhone 7, iPhone 8 is also expected to be water resistant, but with an added advantage of IP68 water resistance rating. Rain, splashes, and brief immersion in water will not hamper the device.
10-nanometer All Chip
The new iPhone 8 is rumoured to have a 10-nanometer All chip, which is going to be both efficient and faster than the current iPhone 7.
Well, these are some of the top rumours we heard about iPhone 8. Apple hasn’t announced the release date yet, but if they keep up with their tradition, the new iPhone 8 should hit the market in September.
In the end, it goes without saying, iPhone 8 is going to be pricier. It could be the most expensive phone ever. Then again, it’s iPhone after all. Expensive, yes. But rest assured, there won’t be any compromise with features or design.
